Hello or hello again?

I know people rarely read first blog posts, so thank you first of all for clicking in.

For many of you it’s “Hello nice to meet you”. For some it’s “Hello again?”. Some of you know I had a travel blog a long time ago where it was more of a collection of essays and photos of my travels thorough Asia, US, and Europe. I stopped it in 2017 when I finished my masters because, you know I got busy. Also social media became all the rage and blogs became somewhat uncool. So why am I restarting it again?

For one thing, I miss writing. I recently reread my entries from my old blog and though they’re nothing special, it instantly brought me back memories and nostalgia. The first entries of this blog brings me back to 2013 and just seeing a few sentences and a few pictures instantly bring me back to how I felt and what I saw in life. And I should note I’m not even a good writer or photographer! But it’s really amazing that even something silly as a blog can help capture my thoughts at that time that I’ll never get back. So I want this blog to serve as a place where I can write down my thoughts at the moment (but I also promise it won’t be a bore!)

Some people might say it’s easier to do on social media. But for Twitter, there’s a text limit which I don’t like. I also don’t think Facebook and LinkedIn are the places to share my feelings - it feels like it’s a place to post your wins or milestones from time to time. You also can’t layout text and pictures freely on these platforms.

Secondly, some of you might know I previously had Sustainability Consulting business and posted a lot of sustainability content. The reason why I pivoted is because it clashes with my 9-5 job and didn’t want it to be a conflict of interest. But don’t get me wrong, I am still passionate about sustainability and will try to incorporate them as much as possible.

Thirdly, I realized that I have been on a traveling journey for more than 20 years. In these 20 years I traveled to 40 countries and lived in 5 of them, across 3 continents. Traveling has become a normal part of my life - but I noticed that more and more people have been asking me about how I do it. Many people also want to travel more or start traveling period, but don’t’ know where to start. Others want to travel but they can’t whether it’s professional constraint, physical difficulties, or political situations. I wanted to make this website a platform where they can enjoy travels with me, and if they are lucky enough, motivated to start traveling as well.

So thank you for reading my first post and hope you will come with me on this journey as well :)
